Feb 11, 2021

Today I explore the topic of #shadowwork, how to approach this experience of #selfawareness #integration safely and ethically: 1) through #meditation, 2) with the support of a #therapist, #counselor or #lifecoach and 3) by reading #books that draw upon #positivepsychology scientific research, self-inquiry and #awareness practices to become #authentic and whole.

The books I mention in this video are (there are many others; please feel free to share which helped you in comments):
Debbie Ford's classic The Dark Side of the Light Chasers: Reclaiming Your Power, Creativity, Brilliance, and Dreams (Riverhead Books, 1998)
Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life by Byron Katie with Stephen Mitchell (Harmony Books, 2002)
and my own book:
The Creating CoPOWERment Workbook: Embracing the Power of Positive Psychology, Healing Stories and Explorations to Create the Life You Want by Lani Kwon, MA, RYT
I also wrote about this topic of integration of the light and dark selves on my blog on my website: https://www.copowerment.com/blogand in an article "Taking Off the Mask: The Courage to Be Your Authentic Self" that was originally published by Natural Awakenings Hawaii in May 2017. Mahalo nui Brilliant Beckie Charron Kowalski and Brave Bud Kowalski for your early encouragement and support when I was first putting these ideas into words. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—
